With numerous top elite young triathletes speeding through the 1km swim and past Olympians like Dan Thompson setting new records in the 2km open water swim the June 27th season kick off was a smashing success.  “Our C3 team worked for several weeks to get the 26 loads of new sand down on the James Dick Beach and the place looked spectacular” said race director Barrie Shepley.  With clean, clean, warm water guaranteed the C3 James Dick Caledon Open Water Swim Races have become fan favourites.  “Having friends like Dan Thompson show up was a nice surprise” said Shepley.  Thompson was the number one ranked swimmer in the world when Canada boycotted the 1980 Olympic Games.   A half dozen athletes started the 10km swim with winning times just under 3hrs.  C3 and Caledon will have a second race in the Global Swim Series on Wed Night July 25th using the same format.  “People can have a chance to see if their fitness is improving on the exact same swim course in July” said Shepley.  People can register for the July course at www.c3online.ca

The water has been so warm and clean and inspiring that C3 and Miguel are hosting one last final swim on Saturday evening Sept 7th.  Many people have asked for the chance to do a NIGHT SWIM.  Others have asked for one final fun social swim.  Miguel and C3 have decided to try to accommodate both requests.
